Our Joy Infant Community is specially designed for children ages 8 weeks to 15 months old. During the earliest weeks of life, while the child is acclimating to life outside of the mother’s womb, we provide a warm, nurturing infant environment with just the right amount of stimulation of the senses to help the natural development of vision, hearing, and movement.

As the child matures, reaching and grasping for objects with different textures, shapes, and levels of firmness becomes a favorite activity. As she reaches, she develops her core muscles and prepares her body for sitting up. This milestone frees her hands for even more exploration.

As she continues to grow and her distance eyesight improves, she becomes interested in exploring even more of the environment. She begins crawling, pulling up, standing, and eventually walking.

Our infant environment is rich in language through the spoken word, finger plays, stories and songs. Children are able to replicate words with some mastery by 9 months and have acquired an extensive receptive vocabulary by the end of their first year.

The JCMSOG Infant Community is designed with an abundance of sensory, language, emotional/social, and cognitive stimuli that assist the child’s natural development.

During this period of infancy, families provide all breast milk, formula, and food for their children. Sleep and eating schedules are based on the child’s individual needs and habits. We follow the home routine as closely as possible, to help bridge the gap between home and school.

Johns Creek Montessori School of GA offers year-round infant care for children ages 8 weeks to 15 months old, from 7:00 am to 6:30 pm. This specialized living and learning environment is best observed in person. Please call or click here to schedule a tour.
